On April 26th, the founding meeting of bird strike branch of Chinese aeronautical society was held in the guangzhou international conference center of Northwestern Polytechnical University. The conference was hosted by the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and co-organized by Northwestern Polytechnical University and Shaanxi Aeronautical Society. Present at the meeting were vice director of China's aviation chun-hong li, northwestern polytechnical university President, the vice director of China's aviation jin-song wang, secretary general of the China aviation institute Yao Junchen, northwestern polytechnical university vice-chancellor bao-wei song, standing director of China aviation association, the shaanxi provincial institute of aviation director WengZhi guizhou branch of bird strike and other related leaders and all the committee members.

At the inaugural meeting, Wang Jinsong and Li Chunhong jointly unveiled the Bird Blow Branch. On behalf of Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPOU), Mr. Song Baowei delivered a welcome speech, thanking China Aeronautical Society (CAA) for putting the newly-established Bird Striking Society into the Affiliated School, and said that CAA would fully support the institutional construction and innovative development of the Branch, fulfill the responsibilities of the Affiliated School, and strive to develop the Bird Striking Society into an influential and excellent academic group. Yao Junchen presented the letter of appointment to Li Chunhong, honorary director of the bird strike club, and Li Yulong, the first chairman of the club. Li Chunhong presented the letter of appointment to the members of Bird Strike Club.




Li Yulong, Chairman of the Bird Strike Branch of the Chinese Aeronautical Society, delivered a report on the establishment and development of the Bird Strike Branch of the Chinese Aeronautical Society. Professor Li Yulong introduced the harm of bird strike aircraft, the development of academic organizations of bird strike research at home and abroad, and the achievements of NPU in anti-bird strike research.

Zhang Jie, director of airport research institute of civil aviation science and technology, member of bird strike branch, introduced the situation of bird strike in civil aviation in China. Zhang Xinmin, former deputy leader of Bayi Aerobatic Team, introduced the danger of bird strike to military flight and the bird strike incident experienced by himself. Jiang Shizhuo, general manager of Western Airport Group Corporation, introduced bird prevention measures in civil aviation airports. Professor zhang zhengwang, an ornithologist, introduced the situation of birds in China and provided valuable experience for preventing and controlling bird strikes from the perspective of flight and migration of birds. Chai xianghai, director of aero engine co., Ltd., made some ideas about anti bird strike design of typical aircraft structures and some achievements in anti bird strike design of aero engine in China.

After a short break, Professor Li Yulong, chairman of the first session of Bird Strike Club, organized all the participants to review the rules of Bird Strike Club and decide the future development plan of the club. Participating members in the organization of construction, popular science lectures, academic conferences and scientific research results of the exchange of active suggestions. After heated discussion, the first plenary committee of bird strike club voted to pass the detailed rules of bird strike club of Chinese aeronautical society.

As the affiliated unit of Bird Strike Society, Northwestern Polytechnical University has made outstanding scientific research achievements in the field of aviation. The university has focused on the demonstration and scientific research of 10 major projects such as large aircraft, and deeply participated in the special demonstration of two aircraft. Relevant research has won several major awards such as National Defense Science and Technology Progress Award and National Defense Technology Invention Award. The school has a high international influence in the field of impact dynamics, which is the subject of the bird strike problem. It is the support unit of the "Structural Mechanics Behavioral Science and Technology" innovation and introduction base of the Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Foreign Special Affairs. As the chairman of the Bird Strike Branch, Professor Li Yulong and his research team have presided over or participated in the design of anti-bird strike structures for several aircraft models, and participated in the development of bird strike simulation test system for Chengdu Aircraft, 623 Institute, 606 Institute and other aviation institutes. They have won the Second Prize for National Defense Science and Technology Progress and the Second Prize for Science and Technology Progress of China Aviation Corporation, etc. The design of engine anti-bird strike scheme proposed by the team has won a number of patents, and achieved the first domestic bird strike test of aero-engine fan blade under rotating state. The anti-bird strike design of the leading edge of the wing "double slanting plate" has been patented at home and abroad, and has been applied in domestic aircraft such as ARJ21 and C919.
Bird strike branch of China aviation institute affiliated northwest industry university, to be able to rely on ms civil aviation college in the field of bird strike against the existing academic, scientific research platform, and further integration of aviation science and technology and related resources, to strengthen international academic exchanges, to build aircraft and engine design, bird bird impact resistant seaworthy, flight information collection, QuNiao technology such as interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary communication platform.
